We used to think that writing a blog was enough. You hit “publish,” and somehow people would find it, read it, and book an appointment.
However, we quickly learned something important: writing the blog is only the first step.
If you don’t have a plan for what happens after you publish, your blog will just sit there collecting dust. That’s why we started using something we call the “Flywheel Method.”
What’s a Flywheel?
Think of a flywheel like a spinning wheel that stores energy. Once you give it a little push, it keeps turning on its own—building momentum over time. In marketing, it works the same way.
You create one piece of content, then share it in a few smart ways. The result? More people see it. More people trust you. And yes—more people book appointments.

Here’s How You Do It
The beauty of the Flywheel Method is that it’s simple, repeatable, and works with what you’re already doing in your practice. Here’s how you turn one piece of content into consistent visibility—all in four manageable steps:
Week 1: Start with a Real Question
Think about the questions patients are already asking your providers or front desk staff.
Topics like:
- “When should I be concerned about back pain?”
- “How can I tell the difference between allergies and a cold?”
Choose one, and turn it into a quick blog post—200 to 300 words is plenty. Maintain a friendly and educational tone, just as you would when explaining it to a patient in person.
Week 2: Share It Where People Are Watching
Once your blog is published, don’t let it sit unnoticed. Share it in the two places your patients are most likely to see it:
- On social media: Add a short personal caption from the provider or practice.
Example: “We’ve been seeing a lot of this lately—here’s what you need to know.” - Via email: Send it to your patient list with a clear subject line tied to the concern.
Example: “Still sniffling? It might be more than just allergies…”
These two channels alone can dramatically increase the reach of your content.
Week 3: Turn It Into a Quick Video
Grab your phone and record a 60-second version of the blog. Repurpose the blog into a short, 30–60 second video. Have your provider speak directly to the camera and explain the topic in a conversational tone—no script needed.
Post the video to Facebook, Instagram, or your practice’s website. It builds connection, credibility, and trust—faster than text alone.
Week 4: Bring It Into the Office
Finally, ask your staff to mention it during visits. They’ll say things like:
“Dr. Kelly just wrote a blog about that—you can check it out on our website.”
Suddenly, that one blog post is now showing up in four different ways—and making a real impact.
Why It Works
Because it’s repetition without effort. People see your message in emails, on social media, in waiting rooms, and during appointments.
You’re not shouting—you’re simply showing up everywhere your patients are.
That’s how trust is built. And trust is what fills your schedule.
